Chuxin Tuoyuan Co., Ltd. is a diversified architectural firm founded in 2020 by Mr. Meng Zhao, who holds a background in architecture from Harvard University. In 2024, the company expanded its creative practice with the establishment of Chuxin Tuoyuan Design Studio. Headquartered in Beijing, China, the firm embraces the concept of “architectural metabolism” as the foundation of its design philosophy, emphasizing the relationship between architecture, interior design, and regional cultural development. Our portfolio includes significant cultural projects such as the Finland Concert Hall, the Helsinki Museum, and the Ivory Carving Exhibition Center of China Academy of Art, all of which contribute meaningfully to the preservation and evolution of regional cultural identities through architecture.

Meng Zhao holds a Master of Architecture Degree from Harvard University Graduate School of Design and a Master of Architecture from University of Southern California School of Architecture. With extensive experience in innovative global architecture, smart buildings, green architecture, and intelligent control systems, He has worked at internationally renowned firms such as SOM (Chicago), UNStudio (Amsterdam), Coop Himmelb(l)au (Vienna), and Rafael Viñoly Architects (Palo Alto). He has contributed to the completion of numerous iconic global landmarks, including the Doha Metro Stations in Qatar, the Chinatown Branch of the Chicago Public Library, and the New Stanford Hospital. These architectural projects have received multiple international awards, including the U.S. Green Building Gold Award, the Louis Sullivan Award, and the Prix Versailles Award. Having worked at internationally renowned architecture firms such as GUND Partnership (Boston), Rafael Viñoly Architects (Cupertino), and UNStudio (Amsterdam). She specializes in sustainable green low-carbon architecture, smart building energy efficiency, and spatial experience interaction design, with extensive expertise in commercial, educational, residential, and interior renovation projects. She advocates the sustainable concept of “Restoration and Continuation,” continuously exploring it through Chuxin Tuoyuan’s research and design practice. As a pioneering leader in cultural and artistic design, Meng Zhang is also a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the China Architecture Association, and the Architectural Society of China.
